1-1 Victory

1-1 VICTORY   We played Phoenix on sunday and managed a 1-1 VICTORY. At the end of the first half, we were locked into 0-0 tie with a goal of our own called back for a questionable off sides.   The second half was also hard played but we fell behind 1-0 shortly into it on a less then stellar goal. We rallied back with (i believe) a thru ball from Jeff Spencer setting up Jeff Wallet with a scoring opportunity thwarted by their goalie. Matt Vale was there to clean it up for the tieing goal amongst diving (and whining) phoenix players.   At the game's end is when the fireworks really happened. One of the Phoenix field players went after the goalie from phoenix (real loud mouth guy, complains about everything, plays at soccer city mens all the time, former goalie for Kings Indoor Pro league).    That is when we got our victory, this team may have gone underfeated last season, and most likely a winning record every other. The buffalo's played a 'more than competitive' match against a team that typically outclasses us.   Great job to all the guys, willing to play where the team needs you; subbing before your too tired, taking direction from fellow players, etc etc.   Special thanks to Jimmie our keeper, I speak for everyone (especially the 9 of us who rotated goalie duties prior to your arrival) when I say that your presence has been the missing link when we started building this team for last spring.   Sean
