Monday recap. I apologize in advance

Victory, Victory, Victory, Victory (One for each goal scored, and likewise for shots sent over the net by Brian)

We had a decisive win over Gut Wrench 4-1.

When I arrived 10 minutes into the game, it was scoreless.  My mere presence on the field inspired Matt to slide a low shot pass the goalie to give us a 1-0 lead.  They added a goal of their own to tie it up.  I don't recall the details other than it was not an earned goal, more bad luck against the mighty buffalo.

Mike Kady drew a PK late (good call actually) in the 1st half.  Matt put it in the upper 90% "goalie left" to regain the lead.  We wanted Kady to take it but he shit himself at the thought of the pressure; and excused himself to the men's bathroom.

We ended the half 2-1. We had guest appearance from FISH at stopper/sweeper and I am sure he feels he was the difference in the first half. Bill Phillips saw some Striker position and helped applied pressure on their defense.

The second half was further dominated by us, we played a little less physical mid way the first half but returned with gritty play.  Randy ventured in rarely charted waters and played center Mid field.  He dominated while on the field and almost out did Brian for the new Bengals Field Goal kicker.  Rob Besse added our 3rd goal after some hard work at the 18 yd line. Dave wants credit for an assist for a goal and I will give it here (although don't recall who passed it to Rob).

We gave up a BS PK call in the 2nd after Steve F was called for a push in the back (again by the Ref who was not in position to make the call).  It was a total dive.  The PK hit the post after Jimmie forced him to kick that way (with his off center position on the goal line).

Brian did add our 4th (again I think Dave wants credit for this but think it was Kady).  It was so close he was unable to put it over the net so we settled for the goal (over another harassment opportunity).  I myself blew atleast 2 scoring chances that I am sure someone with a better recollection may expand on.

Jimmie played a great game.  You can see him becoming more comfortable with the team.  As his confidence increases, so will his willingness to challenge the 50-50 ball.

We moved the ball well, stayed very positive and communicated effectively.  I think this is directly related to Ray not being at the game.

  1. I was standing on the side line when Bill had the BS call in the box against him. It was a great dive, from the sideline it looked like was hit by a truck. I need to work on my dive. We could all take some acting lessons.

  2. Nice game all around to everybody....I'll practice more I promise. I really think I'm not hitting it hard enough...I'll work on it.
By the way - Thanks to Matt G for giving up his hat-trick opportunity and letting me play striker for the last 5 minutes!

  3. By the way, that was from Brian.

  4. I think my shots were actually more centered than Brian's. So I will take to field goal spot and he can do the onside kicks that the Bengal's offense will surely give away.

  5. Good point Randy. I thought brian purposefully left his name off his 'post' because he was embarrassed of his play on Sunday.
